I felt like it’s been forever since Woodpigeon released something. There’s finally an EP coming on January 24th, 2012. Kicking it off will be For Paolo and here’s a black and white video filmed for it. I’m liking what I hear so far.

Woodpigeon seem to love to put children’s games as a metaphor for the subject of their songs. The track comes off their 2010 release Die Stadt Muzikanten. It start’s off with a xylophone, something reminiscent of childhood. The band sings of how “The game of love’s just duck, duck, goose “.

Woodpigeon comes from Calgary Alberta. I recently stumbled on this track the other day which comes from their 2008 album Treasury Library Canada. It’s an indie-pop tune with an underlying violin that reminds me that it is Canadian. The overlying textures build up until the repetitious line “I don’t want you to go back home.
