As you know we had the contest to win tickets to this event. I managed to catch Freedom or Death and The Darcys before running out to a friend’s birthday party.

It was a good thing we arrived early because by 10:30 the place was packed and there was a line up out the door because Steamwhistle Brewry had reached capacity. There were people of all kinds here. Fans, college kids and some people who were obviously worked in the industry

To give you a little background on the event, Steamwhistle Unsigned has been known to show off upcoming talent. Dinosaurs and The Rural Alberta Advantage were contenders before their current successes.

Ride the Tempo has teamed up with Steam Whistle to send you to the Unsigned- Indie Music Series on Friday April 29th at Steam Whistle Brewing in Toronto! Winners will receive 2 tickets to the show and will also recieve a bag of swag. Free stuff is always cool right?

Steam Whistle is an event that supports up and coming local indie talent with a past roster of bands such as The Rural Alberta Advantage and Dinosaur Bones. This year’s event will feature The Darcy’s, Wildlife and Freedom or Death.

There are probably a million bands named Wildlife, but this ain’t some Swiss band, or one from Boston. Nope! The ones I’m talking about are from Toronto. These three tracks come off of their most recently release called Strike, Hard Young Diamond. It gives you a sneak peak of the album full of intensity and energy. It’s the soundtrack to teenage recklessness. I mean with song titles like Money From God and Killing for Fun how can you not feel a bit badass? If their goal was to make an album that was rocked and was fun and ferocious, then they got it here.
