It’s a time for another exciting night of music at Steam Whistle brewery. This time performing will be indie-rockers Boys Who Say No, the super group The Paint Movement and Luke Lalonde of Born Ruffians. The set is pretty fantastic and the $5 it cost to get in will go towards helping the Artist’ Health Foundation. A great cause to support musicians. Oh and if for some reason you are too poor to afford $5, we’re giving away a pair of tickets and some awesome swag. Here’s how to enter:

Here’s the first single off The Paint Movement‘s new LP that was released August 16th. Young Lights is an upbeat track with pretty lush instrumentation done in almost a minimalistic way. There’s a lot of little elements in this indie-pop tune but nothing is overdone, perfect perfection.

I already sort of concert reviewed them for this night in another post because I got excited about discovering a new band I’ve never heard of that I thoroughly enjoyed. Not only are they talented musicians, but they are super nice people. They even jumped on the stage on Yukon Blonde’s set for an awesome epic duo!

Wow, NXNE has been awesome so far. I’m volunteering as door person during the festival but I have to say that I am so lucky to be placed at the Rivoli, because boy did they have some great acts play yesterday! The next few days look like they will be just as great. Here’s a band I only learned of yesterday. Rivoli’s a small venue and they’re a bigger band but it made it oh the more awesome since there are two saxophone players. They rocked the stage even after one of their guitars got stolen while loading. If anybody has seen someone who’s randomly acquired a guitar one day, please let us know. To the person who stole the guitar, please give it back.
