Let’s take it to something a little bit more hardcore. I know I post a ton of pretty alternative and folky stuff but let’s turn it up a notch. This takes me to Ottawa band Sharks and Ladders. They’re sort of funny looking in that they’re quite young and led by 16 year old Zach Rubens. The group released their debut EP Wild Containment back in March. They have an emo but psych-rock vibe with guitar parts that make them sound like they should be older than they are. For a group of people so young, I wonder how they’ll sound a few years down the road.
