The last act I caught at the Audioblood Party was Sandman Viper Command. By then, the room was packed and you could feel the awesomness that is a rock concert in a random apartment in the middle of Toronto.

Garage rockers Sandman Viper Command are back with a new song The Metal I’ve Spent. This track truly has the essence of a big classic rock song but made for 2011. It’s jammed packed with tasty guitar riffs and some badass vocals headed by Rob Janson. Here’s a high energy track for your Wednesday.

I remember I first came across Sandman Viper Command during NXNE last year. Their latest release is a 7″ called Rough Love that you can pick up here. Take a listen to the single Rough Love. They’ve grown from the fuzz rock band they used to be. Production quality is much clearer (less fuzzy). I love the fact they start the track emotionally broken and slow and bursts into some rock goodness. For all my Toronto readers they will be playing a show at Lee’s Palace on May 3rd.

If you look at the title of this blog, the words SANDMAN VIPER COMMAND and STRAWBERRY QUICK sounds as if you were playing the crossword scratch cards are something. However random it seems, it appropriately represents the Burling Ontario group in its randomness, because they themselves are pretty random and entertaining. Their music is described as “garage/guitar fuzz rock”. Strawberry Quick is supposed to be like the Twilight novels are to girls, vague enough that any teenager can feel like they fit into the emotions of the song and fill them with their own lust filled thoughts.
