On July 29th-31st there is a rad three day festival at the Toronto Underground Cinema and the Great Hall. It’s a new mini festival called the Out of the Box Music and Arts Festival. There are a ton of great acts including Olenka and the Autumn Lovers, my new loves Papermaps, Foxes in Fiction, The Cheap Speakers, Heartbeat Hotel, Entire Cities and a ton more you can find on the Facebook Page. Apparently, part of the festival is going to be in 3D, yah that’s right 3D, and you will get glasses. There will also be a giant life size origami! The show is either $10 per show at the door or $15 for a weekend pass. Quite a deal, but you can also win 1 of 3 pairs of tickets from us! All you gotta do is one of these:

I finally found a copy of Olenka and the Autumn Lovers And Now We Sing during CMW. The album had been released in October 2010 but it had been released quietly and mostly through touring and selling it at shows. I shared with you the beautiful track called Odessa earlier. Here’s another off the album called Go. Beautifully simple and sweet.

If you’re a Feist or Imogen Heap fan, you”d probably dig Olenka and he Autumn Lovers. It’s along the same lines of indie folk music that is well written and catchy. Odessa is the perfect track to show off their sound. It’s a fast paced track that will be over before you know it and you’ll just be wanting to hear more. More of Olenka’s beautiful vocals and the skillful band that back’s her up.
