Modern Superstitions revealed another new song in their upcoming album to be released October 23rd. Nyssa’s note about the release mentions their “weirdo pop” sound, but really there’s nothing inherently weird here. Bad Habit shows off their ability to write catchy hooks and simply just rock out without a care in the world.

Toronto’s Modern Superstitions are releasing a new 7″ on Last Gang records. The songs on the record will include School Days, and Way I Want. It was produced by Brian Borcherdt of Dusted and Holy Fuck.

My first encounter with Modern Superstitions was when they opened at Sonic Boom this Sunday for Record Store Day 2011. They looked like pretty average people on stage but boy when Nyssa started to sing/belt, you could tell she had been performing for a while. She has that female rocker chic sorta vibe. Drummer Ben Reinhart also amused me with the fact he’d sometimes be hitting the drums with the maracas. Recently signed with Last Gang, they’ve released a pretty badass EP called All the Things We’ve Been Told. They’ll be playing with Rural Alberta Advantage at Phoenix Night Club on April 29th.
