My first encounter with Modern Superstitions was when they opened at Sonic Boom this Sunday for Record Store Day 2011. They looked like pretty average people on stage but boy when Nyssa started to sing/belt, you could tell she had been performing for a while. She has that female rocker chic sorta vibe. Drummer Ben Reinhart also amused me with the fact he’d sometimes be hitting the drums with the maracas. Recently signed with Last Gang, they’ve released a pretty badass EP called All the Things We’ve Been Told. They’ll be playing with Rural Alberta Advantage at Phoenix Night Club on April 29th.
