It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Nathan Lawr and the Minotaurs gang. Recently they revealed Open the Doors off an upcoming LP called New Believers. The song definitely has a groovy rhythm that warrants some hip shaking, and why not it’s almost the holidays. All this dancing makes you completely forget that this song has some political G20 undertones.

I love it when the perfect song turns on and wakes you up in the morning. Today it was Nathan Lawr and the Minotaurs. How could you not fall in love with a track from a band that consists of members from some of the most musically creative Canadian bands like Holy Fuck and Rheostatics? Get Down is a brass filled track off their latest release Get Down which you can grab on Bandcamp.

The Minotaurs aka Nathan Lawr and the Minotaurs is from Guelph Ontario. Despite the Minotaur reference to a scary mythical monster, there’s nothing scary about their music. They are a sort of alternative pop with a little bit of jazz and afrobeat rhythms and flare mixed in. Take a listen to a crowd favorite called Caught in the Light.
