I posted about In Media Res not long ago but I felt like they were worth another mention as their album It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set out has grown to become one of my favourite releases of 2011. This track reminds me of the recent warnings of the possibility of satellite bits falling on our heads. Satellites fall like rain. I love the imagery painting the music does. The drums and percussion mimicing the tidal waves as the line approaches. This is a fantastic track from quite a fantastic album.

[Listen/Download] In Media Res- Hollis

We all have those times where we judge an album on it’s cover, but please don’t do this for Vancouver BC’s In Media Res. The above album which was released July 12th has the sort of production/experimentation quality that mirrors Radiohead’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was up and running in next year’s Polaris Prize. I love the track Hollis there is something about the noisey uproar that gives me the goosebumps. The whole song just sort of takes you to a different place.
