Formerly, the Racoons, the BC group of 3 recently signed with Arts & Crafts. Therefore you know it’s going to be good. Time to Kill is the first single so far. The simple beat is hypnotizing, their harmonies so warm. Definitely a band to look out for this year.

Check out this track by the new project of Vancouver’s Sweatshop Union under the monicker Leisure Gang. This is a pretty great intro anthem. There’s a self-titled EP that should be out very soon. Leisure Gang demonstrates their progressive sound and will move onto a more loose party feel.

Why not wake yourself up this Monday with Toronto newcomers Some Minor Noise. The beats are heavy, the vocals haunting. Here’s a track off their free EP from Bandcamp with the same title as their name. These guys are probably going to kick some ass in 2012.

Right on Yukon is a musical project that is made up of Greg Wadden, Patrick Shea, Jason Szeto andCameron Lawrence but often includes many others (going to have trouble listening them under a province). They are an alternative rock band with some free tracks on Bandcamp. Sometimes they are on the slower, bluesier side and sometimes they are just straight up rock n’ roll.

EXPWY released another free album on Bandcamp titled Bag of Waters. Like the previous it harnesses fuzzy lofi and raw sound. Bag of Waters is a leap from the previous Dance Maul and Dance Maul and not just in their long ass song titles. There’s something about it that sounds simple yet eclectic. The album brings nostalgia to days of jamming in garages and just making music.
