Here’s a random Bandcamp find from Montreal. Other than that I don’t know much about them but I do dig these beats. They don’t have much on their website besides this song and a promise of an album (that was supposed to be released in March).

Devaney - Gem Piece ARTWORK

R&B has never sounded so smooth. Toronto-based Devaney has crafted a stellar 9 track EP Gem Piece. The songs on the debut are “refreshing and charismatic” with addictive riffs and soothing vocal stylings. Give it a listen and you will wonder how can a 19 year old sound so refined! She is a gem alright!

Thanks to Silent Shout for the discovery of Mori. The Montreal artist released a 3 song EP free on Bandcamp last October and the music has great hooks and a snuggily familiar tone.

animalia
Found this cool tune from Animalia on Bandcamp. Originally from Australia, Jill Krasnicki, now resides in Toronto and is the solo-woman behind Animalia. “Cosmic Swaying” is a sneek peek from her upcoming album Mouth Full of Teeth, which you can get for $2 if you pay more than $2 for this track on Bandcamp. Love the aggressive quality of her voice.

[Listen] Betrayers- Let The Good Times Die

betrayers
Hailing from Edmonton, Betrayers are a psych-rock band that often has a retro 60s sound to their music. Coincidentally, their album art for Let The Good Times Die looks like it could fit right in that time period. This album makes me wish Winter and Spring could just hurry up and get over with so I can totally enjoy the sunshine and fool around with my friends on the beach.

Amanda Crist (Huckleberry Friends) and Carlyn Bezic (Blonde Elvis) are Ice Cream, a molecular-pop project. So far they only have “Science” on their Soundcloud page but the band said it isn’t their only recorded song. Hope to hear more soon. I seem to be posting very space-esque music today.

I don’t think I’ve previously introduced you guys to Hush Pup, the dream pop trio that includes Ida Maidstone of Triple Gangers. The Darlene EP is last year’s effort but if you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s sure to brighten up winter’s dark days with Maidstone’s angelic voice.

I haven’t scrolled Bandcamp in a while for random finds, but I stumbled on Elsa today. They don’t really have much on their page besides one song “In Two” and a tag hinting at their Toronto origins. They are also seemingly impossible to google but I am enjoying this reverb-soaked dream-pop song and hope there will be more to come.
