A while back I posted about Blackpaw Society. Well The Lying Cheats is a newer band coming out with one of the members. Just like their name, their music is dirty and full on trashy 60s inspired garage-rock. Stream Lovin On Me below. It’s definitely got that “naughty” vibe.

Last March we introduced you to Church, but the band now has a full album out on Bandcamp. Unlike the earlier EP, the album consists of new material constructed by all four members. In 8 songs, some pack a bunch, others explore atmospheric folk territory tied together by their fuzzy vocal style.

The Dirty Nil have released a split with Northern Primitive. For the split The Dirty Nil have contributed the track Zombie Eyed which I was told to listen to “at a motherfucking loud volume.” Both songs are free/name your own price for a month only! Or you can shell out a measily $7 for some physical 7″ vinyl.

PS I Love You released this video for Saskatoon from this year’s release Death Dreams. The video was produced by July Talk’s Peter Dremainis.

The Dirty Nil are releasing a 7″ on October 24th. It’ll only be $5 for the vinyl but if you don’t want to wait until then to hear it the A side Little Metal Baby Fist and it’s accompanying B side Hate is A Stone is available on Bandcamp for whatever. The A side is noisey fuzzed out track that’s totally meant to be listened loudly. The B-side is slower and a bit more mellow. That doesn’t mean it’s not good. Plus it builds up to a decent climax til the end.

PS I Love You have released a new video for their song Toronto. There’s are old school inspired bits that take you back to the days of the ghetto old video camera recording quality. I love the cheesy fades, one of which kind of looks like the cover of Beach House’s In Bloomd.The song of course does feature some scenes of Toronto the pass by quickly. What can you spot?

The Folk recently released a 3 song EP called Say It Again. There’s a lot of energy in the three songs and it captures the essence of that grungey garage type feel. Here is When I Go Away, my favourite of the 3 tracks.
