Lisa Leblanc w/ Les Deuxluxes @ The Horseshoe 11/16/2017 Tiana Feng November 27, 2017 Canadian, Concerts, Music 205 Lisa Leblanc played a packed Horseshoe Tavern on November 16th. Les Deuxluxes as an opener was a wise choice. Étienne Barry played guitar and drums at the same time while Anna Frances Meyer channeled a Vegas rocker personality as she addressed the “Ladies and Gentlemen” in the audience. The majority of their set drew from their most recently album Springtime Devil including personal favourite “Queen of them All”. Trash-folk master Lisa Leblanc played through a selection of crowd favourites from her recent album Why You Wanna Leave Runaway Queen including the quintessential “Could You Wait Til’ I’ve Had My Coffee?” Intimates included the love song “5748km” and the classic “5784km”. The triangle was brought out for “Ti-gars”. Anna from Les Deuxluxes joined for a song on the tambourine, while everyone hopped on stage during the crowd pleaser french classic “Aujourd’hui Ma Vie C’est D’la Marde” (translation: today, my life is shit). As an encore and a treat for the Horseshoe’s 70th birthday, Leblanc and her band met in the middle of the venue floor for an intimate acoustic rendition of Cuban music.
