In a haze of fog, Jessy Lanza sang her signature chill and flirtatious electronic tracks earning her some new fans who were lucky enough to be early. Her set included favourites from her 2013 album Pull My Hair Back including “Fuck Diamond” and “Kathy Lee”. The rest of her set focused on new songs which included “VV Violence” from her upcoming album Oh No. Lanza brought a long a drummer which brought more power to her set. “Once you play in Birmingham, Alabama you can play anywhere,” Jeremy Greenspan said in reference to the relaxed mood that the band played in, which continued in the foggy atmosphere of the venue. Fans were treated to tunes old and new including 2011s “Banana Ripple”. The band kicked off their set with a cover of “Some People Are Crazy” by Britain’s John Martyn. Live guitars added to the lush sound of the dance tracks. The climax of the set was the new “In the Morning”. The audience got into a dance trance until the very end of the set. The electronic veterans still know how to seduce a crowd.
