From the upcoming album ‘Lovish’, dig “Hey! Adrienne” by Regina’s Library Voices. Band member Carl Johnson states that the song started out as a homage to British Invasion bands like The Hollies. However, he realized that writing a ’60s-style song wasn’t as straightforward as it seemed. For one thing, those songs usually involved conflict and had a darkness to them. In the end, he ended up basing the song on his experience being bed-ridden for months due to a head injury. He also credits band-mate Michael Dawson for throwing him a few lines, and Andy Shauf for agreeing to sing on the track.
