After an extensive North American tour, Operators returned to Toronto to play a packed show at The Horseshoe on Sunday night.

Opening the night was the psychedelic rock tunes of Moon King. Considering the act to follow, it took a while for the audience to warm up to the band but they were soon entranced by the unique style of Woodhead vocals of Daniel.

I was blown away by Operators set when I saw them for the first time but to my surprise they were even better this time. Having recently released EP1, fans were more familiar with their tunes and even sung along to favourites like “True”. “This song is about fucking,” exclaimed the charismatic Devojka. Meanwhile, Dan Boekner’s uncle could be seen groovin’ along at the front of the stage. Boeckner himself was more full of banter, and humbled for the opportunity to make a living doing what he loves. I’m sure the next time Operators come back, it’ll be on a much larger dance floor.
