Thanks to Canadian Club and Matchstick, I attended The Sheepdogs live at Echo Beach. I also got to hang out with them before hand and that resulted in me missing Zeus’ set. Despite growing pretty big in the last year, the dudes are still pretty hilarious and down to earth. There are even photos out there somewhere of them lifting me.

I was more socializing at the show than I was photographing (was not in the pit). Chilling in the Mixed and Ready lounge where there was free food and drinks, I started my night’s music with The Sadies. We were treated with the groups fabulous guitar techniques and some dance-able rock tunes.

I’ve seen Yukon Blonde at least 3 times this year but they always put on a great show. They played songs from Tiger Talk and their self-titled album, including my favourite Wind Blows.

The Sheepdogs have grown pretty large in the past year or so, especially after appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone. They delivered their trade name vintage 1970s sounding psychedelic rock tunes. Travis Good from The Sadies also joined for a tune. The audience held up lighters during slower tunes and sang and danced along to the faster ones. I walked home with their radio singles I Don’t Know and Who stuck in my head.
