Parlovr @ Sonic Boom 06/16/2012
I was bummed that I couldn’t fit Parlovr into my NXNE schedule, but then I found out they were playing Sonic Boom. Kook Soul tops some of my favourite albums of the year so I had to see them. It was a lovely little intimate play, but their set was energetic and enjoyable as ever. They had some funny antics and pretended someone in the audience holding a Bonnie Tyler record was the singer herself. What really impressed me the most was the fact that I always thought they were more than just 3 people because of their sound. However they proved that they only needed 3 on stage with Louis playing a guitar that could switch to a bass, and Alex on guitar and keyboard. They were really nice guys and told me I should write a letter to their label saying I want their record (which was only released on CD) on vinyl!
