On the first day of CMW, I did this stupid thing where I chose completely random bands to go see. One of them was somebody called Sole Proprietor at the Great Hall. It was an 8pm time slot and when I got there, I was the only person there. I waited and waited for somebody to go on but apparently, all I had traveled there for was a dude pressing play in iTunes. Luckily, the Drake was close by so I caught a few sets. The first was Graydon James and the Young Novelists.
The night was finally saved by the sextet. Their songs were fun and even though the crowd was small it didn’t matter because it was a nice and intimate set. There were some gorgeous 3 part harmonies and solo parts by both Graydon and Laura Spink. All the songs had stories, particular of family and it was cute that Graydon told us about them.
Here are the rest of the photos from the set:
Check out this song by the group!
