Rae Spoon hails from Calgary (currently based in Montreal) and has an interesting and unique brand of indie-pop. Backed by VERY electronic beats (I don’t really know how else to describe it, you’ll see what I mean), Spoon delivers melodies heavily rooted in 80′s pop fashion without sounding dated or played out. A very fun listen for anyone who is into melancholy/upbeat mixtures a la The Cure.
