Stripmall Architecture is Rebecca and Ryan Coseboom. In they past, they have collaborated with James Lavelle’s UNKLE, Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie, Nine Inch Nails/Depeche Mode producer John Fryer, the Velvet Underground’s John Cale and underground avant-cellist Zoe Keating. Daylight Machine is a piece of their own work that comes off an upcoming album Feathersongs for Factory Girls, Part Two that will be released on May 17th. Daylight Machine highlights their electro-pop creating talent with some strange but distinct vocables that frame the idea of the track. Surrounded by synths and layers of percussion, the haunting vocals still soar. Now that LCD Soundsystem is dead, let’s open our ears to some new electronic groups such as Stripmall Architecture that might take their place.
