These dudes I discovered from CBC Radio 3‘s site. Independent Canadian artists are able to upload their music on the radio site for all the world to stream and listen to. I love the system. Anyways, Pop Winds comes from Montreal, Quebec. Their colourful personalities reflect on the music that they create. You can hear this in Owl Eyes with a playful brass accompaniment over with arpeggios in the synth that sounds like it could be a tribute to your 16-bit SNES systems back in the day. You can say they’re “psychedelic” but there’s so much structure and rhythm in it that it can be considered an indie-pop song. Interestingly arranged nonetheless.
