Land of Talk emerges from Montreal’s fervent music scene but resembles Toronto’s Broken Social Scene, who’ve they collaborated with before. Their album Cloak and Sipher came out in August and feature Patric Watson, as well as members of Stars, Wintersleep, Besnard Lakes, Arcade Fire. In Swift Coin you hear Elizabeth Powell’s smooth vocals contrasting with crashes, rumbles and exclamations of excitement in the guitar and percussion.
