Winnipeg’s Christine Fellows writes music that is both tender and terrifying as she displays in her album The Last One Standing. Her music is often describe as Avantgarde folk. Her songs feature a changing instrumentation of cello, viola, piano, guitar and drums, but she is known to use anything she can get her hands on to make the perfect noise during shows.

Sometimes the best sounds come from broken things – toys or banjos or cheap electronics – or everyday noises we tend to take for granted, like traffic and rain and purring cats and the squeak of boots on snow at – 30 degrees
