Salute Mary is a 4 piece group from Edinburgh, Scotland who’s sound is influenced by the rock music of the 80’s and 90’s. Lonely Escapes will be their debut EP set to release September 6, 2010.

The EP has four tracks: Alibi, Hanging from Trees, Lonely Escapades, Vivid Pale. Their sound is alternative rock goodness, a blend of the Smashing Pumpkin’s weightiness with distortion and howling anger like Nirvana. Their title track Lonely Escapes has a perfect blend of bass and rhythm groove, effectively interrupting guitar chords and vocal part that aches with emotion. Hanging from Trees is a more reflective song that leaves you in a sea of noise. Alibi is more upbeat with its driving guitars and you really get that great 90’s guitar rock sound. Vivid Pale is the darker, more sombre song of the album filled of distortion.
