Happy High is the first release from Double Denim Records, a new London based label and is a split between Blackbird Blackbird on Side A and Pao Pao on Side 2. Blackbird Blackbird is no unknown contender, reaching Hype Machine’s top 10 and quite known for his synth heavy tracks that create a wave of sound when mixed in with some faded vocals. They are a contender of the niche genre known as chillwave. Paopao makes a lovely track along with Prizes on Liberia it reminds me a little of successful classic 80s music with a modern twist.
